Regarding lollipop headphones, where could I find (and order) the "rounded-zigzag" stick style. I know that Dance Tracks have some custom-made Sony lollipop phones, like the one I am looking for, but quite pricy $200 USD (over $300 CAD)

Any other spots?

Model numbers??

Makes???

Pictures would help too!!

Thanx DHP

why would you want that useless cramp in the neck, lose one hand to the handle piece of shit headphone. oh yeah real cool standing there holding a stick with a hand that could be free doing what it's supposed to do.

once in the mix, you're ****ed, you either have to hold on to it, thus relieving your hand from important duties elsewhere or you gotta vicegrip the thing between your ear & shoulder so it doesn't slip. not very practical imo.

whoever decided to throw a stick on a perfectly good SINGLE headphone is an idiot. ergonomic? ha!!

dual headphones are just as useless & bulky.

single headphone sans dick. wrap the cord around the back of your neck. see now you can drop your headphone when you want both ears to turn to the room. heaphone stays put, doesn't fall to the ground and still gives you enough volume to catch important high end frequencies that allow you to monitor from a short distance, about 3 to 4 inches. meanwhile your head is not angled & cramped. want to close monitor? no problem. just tilt head & presto, like nipple to the bottle. both hands are still tweaking various knobs, multitasking which could even include a beer & a smoke.

i take that back the creator of the lollipop is one smart cookie 'cause there's lots of people making mad loot from the stupidest dj invention since the quartz lock turntable.

oh to answer your question %Serge% from the board makes them.

there's Ariel, the light tech from Shelter & a zillion other parties in the nyc area that makes them.

don't know anyone else. good luck. bring lots of bengay.

Micheal, try Dave at, I think he based in LA.

www.duo-audio.com (http://www.duo-audio.com)

Apparently he makes them for Louie Vega and co, not that I care. I live in the UK, and this guy made me a lollipop, answered all my questions and very good it was too.

After that colourful response, how "bout I bring the VASELINE and YOU bring the knee pads

I like the lollipop when I'm in a club setting only. I find it extremely useful whenever I need to use a loud monitor.

My neck doesn't ache actually. When I'm "riding", the stick just rests on my massive left shoulder, and I "refer" to it every couple of seconds to make sure that I'm on point.

And the fact that the actual phone isn't pressed up against my ear, helps me too. Like this, my cue volume (i.e.: the next record) gently compliments the booth volume. I find that this formula works best for me, but AGAIN only in a club setting.

Also it encourages you to be slicker and quicker with one hand, which makes mixing even easier if you resort back to a "regular" headphone. And by the way I don't smoke nor drink when I play (general rule---except water). I don't smoke period!!

Thanx for your input man graemlins/beerchug.gif

I think you got it all wrong.

The knee pads are for you my dear. The vaseline is for ME.

Also, make sure that you dabble on some of your girlfriend's make up, and buy a wig. I prefer redheads.

And oh , BTW, what kind of tree branches do you prefer.... graemlins/cool_shades.gif

Hey guys...on a related topic...'cause I think we all do our radio shows at the same station...how do you guys mix in there? Do you use the studio monitors or mix in the headphones from the mixer?...just curious how other cats negotiate that setup...EZ

Just to give you something to snigger at,

I prefer a short thin stick, those bent ones are just too thick and they get in the way.

bwah ha ha @ the whole thread.

Please prepare a video-cam and a cup of tea, as I'll be sitting in an arm-chair filming the action and providing the vaseline whenever needed. graemlins/rofl.gif
