Exit polls. Clinton and Obama are too close to call, but McCain can be called. Usually exit polls are reliable as hell (2000 and 2004 presidential election being the suspicious exceptions)

If this holds up, this is going to be a long, hard fight for the nomination.
A couple of factors that might have been relevant in the numbers so far:
"Again, Obama dominated among young voters, as he did in Iowa, but in New Hampshire they made up a lower percentage of the total vote. Also, in Iowa, Obama got a slightly higher percentage of women's votes, but in New Hampshire, Clinton seemed to be beating him among women voters."

OK - what am I missing? CNN is still talking as if Obama is on top - saying things like "if she comes in a close second, she will still see it as a moral victory - but if it is a landslide she will have to re-evaluate her staff/message etc". I heard nothing said about a victory for her despite the numbers.

So were the pollsters just way off or where did all this Hill support come from? Was the tear jerk 'that' effective? CNN is saying that Hill is pulling in the female vote whereas Obama pulled the female vote in Iowa. Whats yer take on this Dol?

Hey Dolemite, can you enlighten me on this? Does it matter if Obama beats Hilary by a few percentage points or not? Don't they both get essentially half the delegates from New Hampshire either way?
The primary process is a little confusing to me, but reading up on it, that's the way it seems. Seems like winning NH is important for both of their images, and in that way helpful for winning the rest of the country, but it isn't like the general election where they get all the delegates from that state. They get split by percentage.
Or so I thought.

I think the aftermath of the 'tear" moment is what did this. The media jumped on Hill with both feet. Don't think that women did not see this.

It's all about the money. The money was being shut off of Hillary. She wins NH, the money spigot gets turned back on. No one wants to back a loser.

One thing I know for sure, If Obama doesn't win the primary, you better believe that we will have another republican in the office. There are two things Rich men in America fear, poor Black men and White women in power. She may run but she won't be president.

But as far as their votes for the primary, they're tied. Each will get about 11 delegates and the 5 superdelegates will vote for whoever they want regardless. Right, or do I have this wrong?
It's more about the press declaring winners and losers and how that will effect future voters, funding, etc.. but the press keeping "scorecards" and calling one or the other a winner or a loser is pretty unfair since it's actually a tie with regards to how many votes they will get.

This thread demonstrates why Bush was re-elected
Just look at the Dems ... Hillary's tears are some sort of scam?
1) They could have shown emotion to the majority
OR
2) They could show weakness to the majority
If it was staged, that was one hell of a risk - with no guarantee of it working out (given the 2 potential interpretations above)
So now with the fear she could win this eve, it was some sort of scam? ... damn, that's some flip floppin', excuse-making, nonsense by bystanders
Y'all would have been clownin Hilary tomorrow if she lost - talking another way about the tears
*** I think PWW said it best about Bush years ago - at least you know where his peeps and he stand ... he says "fuck you" and repeats it tomorrow under questioning
However this turns out, we've got a race on our hands. And that's probably a good thing for the country. Time for everyone to man-up or woman-up for their candidate!

I am going to support whoever the nominee is. Be it Clinton or Obama or Edwards. All the rest of this, for me, is just political theater. And the Dems win regardless, because 280,000 folks voted for dems vice 220,000 voting for Repubs. This is the bigger story, IMO.

I am kind of bummed. I am not registered as a Democrat and I will be unable to vote in the NY state primary because by the time I decided it was too late to change my affiliation but I have definitely decided that of the "credible" candidates Obama is my candidate (Kucinich's politics are closer to mine). I appreciate where Obama is coming from philosophically- the concept that hope and I daresay love be harnessed as political tools is resonates with me. Add to that that I just can't get behind Hilary. The tear thing didn't sway me, it was her husband the attack dog who I find as untrustworthy and slimy as ever that brought this decision home for me. I am completely over American dynasty politics...
