In defense of his LATEness, the commercial 12" single did just get released a few months back, therefore it has only (somewhat) recently completely saturated the radio. But, yeah...LATE!

Speaking of the pied piper, is it just me, or is hoomeboy trying to put out as much shit as he can before his ass goes to jail? There's like a new remix or song every other week now.
BTW, corny lyrics or not, I love R Kelly.

LOL @ big sexy: this is very true. i think he does a quick mix-down grabs the dat and hand-delivers it to GCI, where they play it the same day. it's unreal! icon_rofl.gif
and he's richer than ever...this whole case doesn't seem to have hurt his popularity at all! i guess he'd have to have sex with 14-year-old boys for a truly unsavory reaction graemlins/conf44.gif

There's a famous quote in politics, something like: "the fastest way to ruin your political career is get caught with a dead girl or a live boy".

It's bugged-out because he will put out a CD then go & do 4 or 5 remixes of a song - then it will be in the stores as a Maxi CD Single (depending on if the bootlegers get to it first)
The Loveland CD was never official - the bootleger had a field-day with that one. It is one of the few CD's that got "Ghetto Platinum" status.

but getting back on topic, thanks to Tom Joyner, that damn song is stuck on repeat in my effing head, so right now i really really don't like it.

I doubt if he's going to jail though, while he's makin' all this music, he's done some positive things for the community (money to the E2 families) and making special apperances, and helpin' folks.
I have much respect for R. Kelly. As an artist he's top notch. We all are weak for women in one way or another, no it's not right for him to be with underage girls but that has'nt been proven yet.

That's about as close to proof as you can get, being literally caught on tape.
That's not to say he might not get off scott free. He might, but since he's a black man, his chances don't look so good to me. Especially becuz of the piss thing. If it had just been some regular old sex, he would have had a better chance, but he had to go and piss on her (on tape). If he looked like Rob Lowe he'd have a better chance.

I think his music is garbage. I was feelin' "12 play" though but I was livin real sleazy at the time and it was good music to get my freak on to. All his stuff sound the same now, real shallow. And that step song. The idea is good giving tribute to the Chi town stepper sets. Reminds me of a special Chi town honey. But dude singing stye sounds like a straight Ron Isley copy.

i haven't forgotten about how he married aaliyah when she was underaged--then denied it. i haven't forgotten how some girl was saying no but her body said yes. i haven't forgotten the footage that he filmed where he urinated on that girl (consent or not).
at the end of the day, i choose not to support him. i will not jam to his music because i do not support what he stands for. that's not judging, that's preference about where i put my money.

This R. Kelly issue is getting crazy. There is so much speculation about what's really going on.
Number one: The "Step in the Name of Love" tune is several months old if you're from Chicago. R. Kelly wasn't even counting on the video coming out (He shot the video last spring). "Kels" has a greatest hits cd out with a few new songs, most notably "Touched A Dream" (which is a fantastic tune!), and "Step in the Name of Love" was on the last cd he released. So R. Kelly didn't even plan on that song being released.
R. Kelly is producing several artists right now, including Maurice Mahon (winner of the Chicago Idol) and A-1 (my sweetheart). His case keeps getting a continuance, particularyl because the underage girl on the infamous videotape (Sparkle's niece) is refusing to testify. Even her parents don't want her to testify (with a half a million dollar payoff and a PT Cruiser, testifying against the hand that feeds you is pretty difficult). Like JMJ brought up, O.J. Simpson beat a double murder case with two white people being the victims. O.J. spent $10 million. R. Kelly's money is way longer than that (He's still eating off the "I Believe I Can Fly" checks!!). I don't R. Kelly is going to jail.
Again, the notion that race plays a factor in the R Kelly case is absurd. The only color that matters here is green, and alot of green is getting spread around. The video evidence will mean little in the end, because unless the victim testifies, or he (R Kelly) was caught "live" with the female in question, it's highly unlikely that he'll spend anytime in jail, regardless of the truth. The color green works in mysterious ways.......JMJ
