We've probably all faced the scenario where we are warned that an action we are about to take or a path we are about to embark on will lead to "bad things" - financial ruin, romance issues, career screw-ups, etc. Often, the advice (well intentioned or not) ends up being quite accurate. What about the other times? Have you ever gone ahead with something, despite the warnings of dire consequences, and everything turned out just fine or even better than fine?
(it's the end of the day and I'm stretching for something to say)

once me & my friends killed this man & they told me not to eat his heart but I knew if I did I'd get special powers and now I can fly.

When I was younger, I was defiant and daring. I would wear lots of jewelry on the subway just so I could tell people I did it and didn't get robbed.
I would walk through "bad" neighborhoods alone at night and drive great distances by myself. I would travel to other countries by myself.
People told me I should not move east alone that I would not be able to take the cold and being away from family and friends. I went though some ish, but I'm still here more than 10 years later.
When I first moved to Pa., my mother begged me not to ride my bike through the woods alone, but I did it anyway and experienced some of the most peaceful moments as well as spine tingling exhilaration. Not once did I come upon a serial killer or rapist.
I always do what I wanna do, be who I wanna be, go where I wanna go and see who I wanna see... Cuz I'm a woman...yeah, yeah.
