I was at a party last week and the dj played some great latin tracks, it were not those latin house records, but it was the real stuff i think it was from the 70's. A great mixture between percussion(conga's) and instruments like strings piano/rhodes and vocals.
Can anyone help me out with some titles please?????

Can anyone help me out with some titles please????? Head down to Delancy Street where you'll find Bate Record store. They have A multitude of latin music from the 70's. Check out Ray Barretto, Hard hands; Joe Bataan, Riot and Poor Boy; Eddie Palmieri, Sun of Latin Rythm. Look for Willie Bobo,Willie Colon,Lebron Bros,Johnny Pacheco,Roberto Roena y su Apollo Sound, Frankie Dante and the Orquestra Flamboyant. Mongo,Machito,Charlie Palmieri. Just ask; the staff will help you. I happen to know so much because I am a Latin Music Fiend myself. Too bad you weren't around for the radio shows of that era with Symphony Sid, Felipe Luciano, Dick Ricardo sugar on WHBI and Roger Dawsons great Sunday Salsa show on the legendary WRVR! Those WERE the days! graemlins/cheering.gif
