Whoa! They really went in a different direction there. They might lose a couple of hardcore hip hop fans with this one. Not sure what to think of it. On the one hand, I applaud their efforts to broaden their horizons ... on the other hand, I am not really feeling this cut at all. They need to bring some type of Aquemini part II type of stuff. That album is off-the-hook! Just my two pennies ....

magic_juan graemlins/cool_shades.gif people said the same thing about "Bombs Over Baghdad".
I believe if you listen closely you will hear that sound...the sound of "dat next shit".

Outkast has a P-Funk Flavor to their style. One must acquire a tast for it.

I must admit, Bombs over Baghdad did nothing for me. I know a lot of people who just go nuts over that joint, but I just didn't feel it. Maybe over time .... until then, I am still bumpin' "Benz or Beamer." Love that cut!

I think it's hot! I especially like the interludes...the 'She Lives in My Lap' is great, too...
Can't wait for their new albums!

Just got back from Atlanta...this cut came on and women FLOCKED to the floor like a riot!! They danced crazy like poesessed demons lol!
I literally saw tons of flossy dudes quickly leave full drinks at the bar to rush to the floor....cats scrambling to find a woman to dance with.
This tune, the cut by Lil john and the one by Boncrusher are the tunes of the moment in the Dirty South.
lil ray talked about tunes "made for women" ... this tune is "made for women"

I don't like the "happy hardcore" sounding parts.
Some of the singing was cool.

The message is in the music, going back to the roots of Detroit Techo in some parts of the cut.

Love em or hate em, you gotta give it to them for taking chances and always throwing us off.
If Larry Blackmon were 20 years younger, he would have written "She Lives In My Lap".

They definitely push the boundaries of what we call hip-hop -- just like P-funk pushed the boundaries of what we called funk. Andre 300 even mentioned that he studied George Clinton concerts for his vibe. I'm not going crazy over the tune, but I understand where Outkast is coming from. Courage is it's own reward.
i'm listening now with my man who is a skr8, hardcore boodie music fan and he absolutely is digging this - but so am i...
let me tell you something: i'd rather have ONE original tune like this than FIVE of those horribly formulaic radio or maw bullshits...

Booty music with a touch of techno....Not my personal taste, but sounds like a floor filler for that genre........

Not into it at all, he's biting technotronic and all those other weakassed early nineties euro-dance acts and 6 23 is right it's technically a happy hardcore record with some breaks in it...
So this is the new stuff, next you'll tell me P Diddy is looking at dropping some House...
IT's like the Neptunes never happened :(

Tell your sk8r friend to peep the new MURS album of the Living Legends Crew from L.A. It's out on Def Jux. There is actually a really good sk8 song that shouts out the late NYC sk8 og Keenen Milton. part of our deep problem is these socalled limitations we put on about what is good party(club) music and way 2 often as of lately our so-called deepness is not happening to others

Peace I didn't hear anything resembling Detroit techno in this song. This is booty all the way, with a cheesy synth line. Better than current day hip-hop, but still, this sucks.
