Just a quick heads up to any UK peeps - if you havent ever checked out a night called Scuba in Sheffield you need to - it kicks ass!

Having been away from Sheffield for a while, we went back on a whim and what a pleasure to find Danny Wang playing as a suprise guest.. following on from chris duckenfield and the idjut boys he just rocked the *hit out of the place with some deep disco sounds. and judging by the generally young and funky crowd getting down to these sounds, there is certainly a future for 'deep house' music in the UK.. he even played a wicked dubby remix of justin timberlake which helped keep the girls on the floor but was great in its own right! altogether a wicked night, as scuba always is, well imo a club with chris duckenfield as resident is always going to be a safe bet - one of the few technically amazing but-still-capable-of-playing-a-varied-set djs we've got in the uk, certainly in the house world anyway

RESPECT!

RESPECT! Was good to see Chris playing in the Muse bar on the Friday, nice to see him playing a small bar in town and showing his technical skills in a bar situation. Sheffield is buzzing in a Deephouse term with some really good parties and a couple of bars playing quality house.

On the subject of Wang, popped down to the Solid State party on fri, expected him to be deep but he was holding back, perhamps it was the crowd, but musically I wasn't that impressed, might have had something to do with the Baileys I had consumed.

As for Scuba, they keep pulling it off with some great partys and guests, Pepe Braddock and Larry Heard are the perfect examples

greetings On the friday night in a very small intimate venue (under the boardwalk) in sheffield, Danny suprised with a real varied set. It was quite hard to pin down exactly what was going on. As we arrived he was playing Van Heldens "u don't know me", this threw s a bit but the dancefloor seemed happy. I can recall hearing the Oakenfold mixes of Justin Timberlake. There was a wee bit of Disco thrown in, but to be honest with u the Baileys took hold and we began to drown our sorrows. Pity we missed the idjut boys, but went down stairs to take in some of the Kyoto Jazz Massive instead. Which was nice!
