If you haven't heard yet, there is a lounge in Cnicago called sonotheque 1444 W. Chicago (east of Ashland) 312)226.7600 NO COVER / NO DRESS CODE.
There is nothing like it in Chicago.The minimalistic design is based around the sound-which is immpeccable! The music is everything jazz-based played by Anthony Nicholson-so you never get tired of hearing the same records over and over. It is a place for people who love and understand music and is also a place for people who wish to hear and learn more about music. You can come dance, or actually hear your friends while talking/chilling. I am promoting Thursdays and when we have live shows because i believe this is something Chicago needs. I respect the music, the beautiful space and the owners and am inviting you to enjoy sonotheques vibe with me!

Peace Sonia, I personally think Sonotheque's aura is one of Chicago's top notch attractions. Musically and acoustically it's far above the standard. I wish Anthony, Joe and yourself luck with the night. It's one of my favorite nights of the week there besides Fridays and Saturdays..

Yeah, accoustically I havent heard anything woop the sound of those speakers in Chicago yet......(more of a balanced sound which I personally like, instead of all lows, a good distribution of Highs too....)

I'll try and get there upon return, glad you dropped that address, so lifted the times while there, I couldnt even remember the street....

I can't say enough about the positive vibes and inspiring music that Anthony Nicholson shares at Sonotheque. I must admit that I do prefer the selection he brings to Thursday night(more jazz, fusion, rare groove, etc...) over Saturday (underground house, soul, etc...). Although I haven't missed a Saturday at Sonotheque, I really would love to get there more often on Thursday.
