I agree too. Hope he is well.
Anyone know how he actually is? The last I heard he wasn't in very good shape.
Wow a name from the past... I haven't seen Spencer since the early 90's Milwaukee loft scene.....:conf44:

I remember hearing him drop heat at Ka-Boom and Shelter. He was pretty damned good from what I recall.

out of that whole clique (you know the one), Spencer was definitely the rawest when it came to the music he played.

I have heard from alot of sources he is mentally ill and in San Francisco...Possibly even homeless...Tons of stories that he freaked out and dumped all of his equipment off a bridge...

Freaking fantastic! So full of energy. This was my kind of stuff in the 90's. No sleepy house, just raw grooves to move your body. Gemini was the sh*t!

I sited and spoke to him on a few occassions at Northwestern Hospital last year, while at work, I kinda wondered if he was ok, in talking to him, but he was always on his mac laptop, waiting infront of the Apple computer store at the bus stop, also. Maybe he's not into the music like he used to be...:conf44:

That sounds better than some of the stories I've heard(even FROM the REDNAIL camp).

so he's in chicago? word. least hes doin aight enough to have a nice computer. lots of producers (and even djs) that were into house, lose interest in the 'game' - if you ever run into him again, let him know 'he'll always be respected no matter what'. and while youre at it, let him know that he can probably make a few bucks if hes got any unreleased tracks sittin around!
i liked a lot of gemini's stuff as well... the 4 part mix on ezskank is right up my alley.

-M JWOW. I haven't heard the first part of this mix in ages.
I remember this party, my homies brought Spencer down to Dallas for this one. Back in the mid-late '90's, Spencer actually lived in D-town for a spell and was a roommate of J.T. Donaldson. Had the opportunity to kick it with him on occasion and Spencer was always thinking abstractly. Had the chance to listen to some of the music he was working on and it was always raw.
thanks for the link.

Spencer was the hype shit and an amazing producer, i still play his music out today.
Friend of mine said he saw him soliciting for change on N.Clark St in Chi, but that was around 02 or 03.
Damn, that man used to represent with the best!

I've wondered about him too. He's STILL one of my favorite producers. Man used to freak shit and know how it's supposed to be done. I hope he's okay.
Any updates about him?
Anyone got any mixes by him they can share? The ones on the ezskankin site are gone! Would love to hear him spin! PM me if necessary!
