About Alexis....
Alexis P. Suter has been a staple of underground Garage sounds since the early 90’s and was the first African-American woman signed to Sony-Epic (Japan). Her legendary Club Shelter anthem "Slam Me Baby" distinguished her as a genuine underground star with penetrating vocals. For Sony she brought forth an EP titled Drums of Freedom including the hit "We Need Each Other". Miss Suter joined the HipBone Records family in 1998 and recorded the first single on the label "All Night Long", and then the smash follow-up "You Don’t Know". A seasoned gospel performer, she is a featured vocalist with New York’s acclaimed "Illumination Gospel Chorale", and a former member of "Lavender Light Gospel Choir". Along with fronting her own band, Miss Suter also performs with the famed Kerry Kearney Band. Current releases for Alexis include "Keep It Together" on Z Records in the UK, "Love Life" and "What Can I Do For You" on HipBone, and "Plain Folks" with the groovy jazz funk band TUBA also on Hipbone. Presently Alexis maintains an active live performance schedule and is recording a new full length release with Hipbone; a collection of Blues and Soul tunes.
