</TR></TBODY></TABLE>* Superdelegates from Democrats Abroad count as 1/2 of a vote (http://demconwatch.blogspot.com/2008/01/when-superdelegate-isnt-so-super.html).

In addition to the above superdelegates, there are 76 additional unpledged add-ons that will be picked at the various state conventions.

So what's the word? Possible back-door duke-out?

What about the voters contacting the Super Dels, and voicing their concerns and opinions on who they want their Super Dels to cast their votes for?

I really don't know, and I'm not sure anyone does at this point. My guess is that there will be a strong push by party leadership to get the super delegates to fall in line with the winner of the popular vote/pledged delegate race. This is normally what super delegates do, although this year is obviously unusually close. I think things will also be complicated by the "Clinton factor" and the Michigan/Florida situation.

All I know is this. If Obama goes into the convention having won the most states, the most votes and the most pledged delegates (which I think is quite likely to be the case), and the party insiders somehow take this away from him, I can't imagine what all the ramifications of that will be...but they will be enormous and multi-faceted in my opinion.

I just called our SuperDels....

I called John Sarbanes' office, and expressed that I would hope that MD's Super Delegates will cast their votes for who ever has won the state. And for them to expect calls because Im forwarding this info to a large mailing list.

WE want our votes to count, and WE want our elected officials to cast their votes for the candidates in a way the represents the will of the people who voted.

And if not, we will have very long memories.

on to Steny and Chris

well riding into work tday I was listening to several different radio shows and callers feel that the uncertainty of the Super Dels, somehow devalues peoples individual votes. A lady said if a Super Del from a state that Obama wins pledges to HRC she said she will never vote again, because her vote will not count. i really cant blame this sentiment.

Well, I don't want to even speculate about the possible reaction in the African-American community in particular if the scenario I mentioned comes to pass. Not whole-heartedly supporting Mrs. Clinton in the general election might be the least of those reactions. Feel me?
