DHP-Belgium summer gathering 9 August details & line-up

Indeed, time to start thinking about this one in a more immediate fashion.

The program for the weekend will be as follows:

Friday August 8th, for those who are already 'on the spot' we will have a get-together, play a football match, have dinner, spin some records and have kinda a pre-party. The line-up for this one will be DHP-Belgium-stylee (see underneath).


Saturday August 9th, the 'big' day. After a good night's sleep (well, that remains to be seen really) the gathering will start at 2PM, hopefully by the pool in bright and hot weather. From 2PM till 10PM the decks will be placed outside, with cocktails and bellybuttons a plenty... Starting 5PM there will also be a bbq, for which we do need to know in advance what you prefer: meat or fish. The bbq is €12.50 for meat and €15 for fish. Our budget cannot cope with all dj's and their friends having the bbq for free, so I hope nobody will hold it against us if I ask you to pay for the food. If all goes well the dj's will not have to pay, but that will depend on the turnout.
From 9PM music will start indoors so we hope to make the outdoors/indoors change a smooth one.

So now, the line-up. It has been a bit of a puzzle and of course not every dj will have a top-notch slot, but I think it looks mighty good:

I hope this works out for everybody, I would have loved to give y'all longer slots and 'prime-time' hours, but that's not possible.

If anybody has serious second thoughts about their slot or can't make it due to practical (travel) reasons, let me know and I'll see what I can do, but it won't be much.

We will be arranging accomodations between the Kinky People this weekend, so as of yet I can only tell you that all our foreign guests will have a bed to sleep and a shower to use. The DHP-Belgium camping squad will have a nice little site + bathrooms as well. Only thing I need to know from you lot is who is going to do the camping stuff and who prefers a bed (Lyot, what about Taija and Francesca?), so let me know asap!

That's about it I guess. Just one last thing, let me know how many people will be accompanying you so I can make a guest list (which will also be handy for the accomodation thingy). And another last thing, concerning drinks and stuff, while you are playing we will be providing you with all you need, but with some 15 dj's and their friends we cannot have everybody drink for free all day and night long, but I suppose you all understand that one.

Antilliaanse Feesten is a 'coloured' music festival, tropical kinda thing (right?), which you can visit by the dozens in the summer imo, but I'm kinda biased, 'cause I'm bored senseless with all this world music tropical cocktail kinda atmosphere. It's a bit too hyped up politically correct for my tastes, but then again people say I have strange tastes, so there :D

All I know is that our gathering will be major fun and that we need a big group of people to cover our expenses...now THAT'S charity! graemlins/beerchug.gif

About Friday and the football game, we are meeting up either at Jockey at 19h or Clues (straight accross Deinze train station) at 18h30, let me know which one you prefer and how many people will be playing along.

Dinner (spare ribs or something for the veggies) will be served at about 21h30, after which the decks will be lit by David Le C, Tom D and ardi.

For David, CD players are probably included, but bring those vinyls as well, you can safely store them somewhere during the party.

Fabrice Lig still hasn't decided, we'll see.

Don't worry, the sun hasn't left us, I believe they call this 'heat storms', no way of predicting it but I'm sure they won't bother us, on the contrary, a short hot shower in 30°C is a blessing :D

You can either come to Clues (straigh across the train station of Deinze) at 18h30 or to Jockey at 19h (check www.jockey.be (http://www.jockey.be) for directions). We'll be starting the match around 19h30 (it's only a 5 min drive from Jockey) and dinner should be ours around 21h30/22h, in the garden where Saturday's party will be held.
When we are ready David Le C and Tom D. can hit the decks as they please, the night is all theirs.
