All I can tell you is that Phyllis Hyman live was the bomb. Blue Note, BAM, The Beacon, anyplace she performed. I think I saw her perform live at least 4 times. She had a way of making both men and woman feel like magic. I ran the tab up up and away at Blue Note one night staying for two shows. I nearly lost it when I found out she passed. It was crazy because I was spinning on 77th & Bway and had "You Know How to Love Me" on the turntable when my one of my DJ partners came in from The Apollo concert that she was supposed to play with the Whispers and told me what happened. Talk about an erie moment. Needless to say I did not spin anymore that evening. I miss you Phyllis Hyman.

PH made her home in Philly. True, she had a lot of demons. One of her backup singers Larry comes to our party. We've been trying to get him to sing a few bars, but for right now, he's gettin' his dance on and havin' a good time.

Angela Bofill was a great pianist. How's her health these days?

So was Angela Bofill. I saw her when she first got known, at the Wolman skating rink. I also saw her a few times at the old Pier 84 concert series they used to have every summer. I liked Phyllis' voice better. She had a distinct way of phrasing that was unique.

Its interesting that both these ladies have had their share of problems with the music industry at some point and both were on Arista Records.I think when Ms Houston came along alot of other female singers on arista took a back seat,as is always the case when the next fresh thing gets on the boat.Phyllis Hyman did covers great as did Angie Bofill.Phyllis's Betcha By Golly Wow Is perhaps better than the original. As is Angie Bofill's Version of the Gwen Guthrie Song "This time Ill be sweeter".

The last time that i seen Phyllis Hyman perform live, Was at The Valley Forge Music Fair, In Valley Forge,Pennsylvania In 1993(About 20 Minutes from Philadelphia), Angela Bofill and Larry Carlton(Very talented Guitar player, Were also Performing with Phyllis Hyman that night, Phyllis Hyman put in much work(Along with Angela Bofill and Larry Carlton), Phyllis Hyman used to hang at Bentley's and Justine's In Manhattan, On a sometimes, Regular basis(As alot of the bigtime celebrities used to hang Downstairs at The bar at Bentley's,

During the early 80's to the late 80's, As well as Justines, Going back to 1979, When Reggie Wells started mixing at Justines to the mid 80's), I had the pleasure to see Phyllis Hyman preform live 3 times(All 3 times in the Philadelphia area, Though, I used to see Phyllis Hyman quite a bit in New York, Going back to 1979/LOL, Phyllis Hyman was mad crew with Frankie

Crocker/Rip,Gregory Hines/Rip,Etc, Along with Phyllis Hyman, Being mad crew wth Jean Carne and Norman Conners(Who both discoverd Phyllis Hyman performing in a spot in New York, In 1975 or so), On the low, One of Phyllis Hyman's best Dance music plates, Is a plate called,'How Long', From the late 80's, Along with,Sweet Music','Living inside your love', 'I ain't asking', 'The

Kids', As well as the classics that cats still run today('You know how to love me',Loving you, Losing you','Under Your Spell',Etc, Also, Clive Davis is a cold sucka to the ninth power, In regards to the lack of respect, That both, Phyllis Hyman and Angela bofill, Received, While, Phyllis Hyman and Angela Bofill were down with Artisa records in the 80's(WORD/LOL).
Much Respect
