Say Victor, I just finished reading your Biography, And excuse me for not really being up on you as far as your history on the Dance music scene is concerned my man, But you have been around(LOL), Also, You mentioned that you once worked with Tommy Musto who is one of my favorite Producers, I haven't heard his name being mentioned that much, and i just wanted to know if he is still out there(On The Dance Music Scene), Two of my favorite joints by Tommy Musto is 'Take some time out', with Arnold Jarvis', and Yvonne Turner/Downstairs record store from back in the day(Also, Do you know if she is still on the scene my man), And the vastly underrated joint 'Reach', with Judy Cheeks from i think 1994(Judy Cheeks is another singer i haven't heard from in years), Also, The joint 'Never gonna be the same', sung by Monie(Whatever happened to her)was underrated to me as well, One more question in reference to Tommy Musto my man, The joint 'As i am' Sung by Carolyn Harding in the mid 90's, Was Tommy Musto)The producer for that song , I have a tape with 2 versions of that song, Both versions are rocking, But, One of the versions is alot better and more soulful,(While the other version is more commercial and for the radio,But good Though), Anyway, Keep rocking the music my man, And good lookin on the Roy Thode tape money, Would you by any chance have any tapes with Kenny Carpenter and Timmy Regisford when they used to mix at Studio 54(Mike Stone throwdowns)in the early 80's.

Mike Barnes Hi Mike,

Thanks for the appreciation.
Sorry for taking a while to see your message, but I'm currently going through a move, and hav'ent had much time for anything else.
Regarding Yvonne Turner. The last time I saw her,was around 94.We edited a remix she had done for Gwen Guthrie.Yes,I'd like to to catch up with her again too.
Yes,I speak with Tommy Musto frequently. No,"Reach" by Judy Cheeks was'nt him,nor was "Never Gonna Be The Same" by Mone.
Mone was from Florida, and was produced by the Original Jazz and Groove (Roy Grant and Brian Tappert). It was her second release (first was "Better Way"),and it was released on Bassline. Not sure if Tommy did "As I Am" by Carolyn Harding, though you may want to ask him directly. You can reach him by e mailing silvio@northcott.com
Glad your feeling the Roy Thode.I'll work on getting some more up by him.
Yes,I should have a Kenny Carpenter, studio 54 tape up within a few days on the site www.vjsproductionsinc.com (http://www.vjsproductionsinc.com) (in the tapes area).
I did'nt realize Timmy played Studio too ?
MIKE STONE !!.Theres someone I'd like to see again. You in touch with him ?

Say Victor, Good lookin with the information my man, I know a few cats who used to go to Studio 54(Not on the regular though), Who have mentioned to me that Timmy Regisford used to mix at Studio 54 for a few Mike Stone Throwdowns(Parties)in the early 80's, I never met Mike Stone before(But i know a few cats who know him), But i most definitely remember the throwdowns he used to give at Melons in the early 80's When Tee Scott used to mix there(Guest Spots), I think the regular cat(Dj)at Melons was a cat named Derek Davidson back then(Early 80's)who was nice also.

Victor, just caught this thread and wanted to send a shout out to you. It's been a long time since we have seen each other but I am eternally grateful to NYC heads like Moneypenny, Judy Russell, Ralphie Dee, Tommy Musto, Eddie Maduro, Silvio Tancredi, Tino Padovano and Davidson Ospina who helped me get my feet wet in the dj and journalism game. Good to hear you are still in the game; I'll be on the lookout for the Roy Thode. God bless!!
