OMG I ADORE Yorkie's. They are sooo sweet, loyal, playful and require a lot of attention. My brother has one, it's a yorkie and poodle mix, he looks more yorkie though.
They're precious!!!

I just like the fact that they only get "so" big

yorkies are very very very stubborn, smart and loyal. be prepared to have a lot of patience to train in order to avoid the annoying small dog phenomena. i am getting a yorkie/maltese mix (3/4 yorkie and 1/4 maltese) from my boyfriend's sister whose dog just had puppies. i picked up a book called Yorkshire Terriers for Dummies. it's very informative and breaks down all the basics you need to care for the dog.

Advice to anyone just getting a dog...buy "The Art of Raising A Puppy" by the Monks of New Skete. It will open your eyes and mind to what a dog really is and make the process of training puppyface into a simple and painless operation...long before there were "whisperers" on cable, there were these most excellent monks...

I got me cat named Bilbo. He plays the piano when he wants to get my attention. Seriously, he'll wake me up that way if he wants to go out in the middle of the night.

Cool. Just remember, they are never too young to be trained... and the crate is your friend. Never use it for punishment...it should be the dog's safe haven. Good luck!!

German Pointers are very very active and sometimes nervous dogs. I have hunted birds with German pointers and they can run all day!
