My sister is performing in Glasgow and Edinburgh until Sunday and wanted to know if there's anything "housey" happening in either city. Please lemme know. Thanks!

Go here and look around. You can choose from the drop-downs eg Club/Glasgow/Friday

There aren't listings for everything....most clubs are too lazy to update. The best thing she can do is talk to the people she meets. March tends to be a fairly quiet month as far as big names go.

You can also check these for something she might like.

Hope this helps.

Tell her, I hope she has a great time! Glasgow's much more of a party city than Edinburgh, but Edinburgh sure is beautiful! She's a lucky girl

Although I haven't been for a few years, the Sub Club (in Glasgow) was always a good bet. Harri, who's resident on Saturdays, is one of my favourite DJs.

I was actually just checking to see if they had anything on....It's a quiet month for them...just the usual residencies.

Omar S on the 22nd? Anyway, Harri and Domenic on their own are enough of a draw for me.

I should say: it's been a few years since I've heard either of them, but I used to go to the Friday nights at the old Plastic People religiously to hear Harri.

I can't disagree. Omar S, thats not until the end of the month, she'll be home by then  I might go to that one if I've got time.

Compared to Feb. it's quiet (Larry Heard, Prins Thomas, Ralph Lawson)

hey,

check out www.eccf.co.uk for the lowdown on the edinburgh scene.

check out nights such as 'ultragroove', 'shoot the pump', 'telefunken'.

gareth somerville is involved with both 'ultragroove' and 'shoot the pump'. he's been credited on dennis ferrer's album as 'showing me how to really lift a crowd'. he does 'shoot the pump' with nick yuill, he too did a night called solescience. between them, if you can think of a big worldwide dj/producer, then theyve played at thier nights. both are fantastic dj's in thier own right. if you like a more jacking based night, check out 'telefunken'.

You also have 'moovn' at the other end of town, with resident craig smith. he's been on tour with m.a.w. , signed to 'soul heaven' and is good friends with kenny dope and mr.v so he knows his shit and how to put on a good party.

In glasgow, I'd personally go for the sub club over the arches. Arches tends ot be a young crowd and you get a lot of trance and techno. sub club is for the heads and harri and domenic could match any international dj on a good night.

Ross H and I dont have any dates booked yet so couldnt invite her along. Let me know which night she picks in edinburgh or if not, the sub club and we could maybe hook her up with guest list : )
