Prince, the famous singer who is only 5'2'' (1.57m) high, is now paying the price for trying all his life to look taller, as he might undergo hip replacement for wearing platform shoes very often.

According to Pagesix.com, "He used to wear high-heeled boots every day and doctors told him that may have contributed to his condition. Over the years, he has battered his body so much that his joints, especially his hips, are causing him a lot of discomfort."

The singer is a Jehovah's Witness, and thus against the surgery, as it involves blood transfusion, a procedure not allowed by his religion.

Prince, now 47, tried to change his name in the late 1990s, requesting to be referred to as simply The Artist, with a name O(+> that had no pronunciation. But everybody started calling him as the Artist Formerly Known as Prince.

Regarding his shoe-habits, the Artist once declared:
"People say I'm wearing heels because I'm short. I wear heels because the women like 'em

I would think it would have more to do with his dancing than his footwear.

Funny story though, Prince at his unsexiest.

it's not as bad an operation as it used to be...a good friend of mine who did high impact aerobics for 25 years got a hip replacement at 46 and ...

he's like brand new...can dance/jump/split just like he was 22 again...

it's literally, a new hip=NO PAIN.

Why? Women have been wearing platforms for years but the majority of hip replacements are given to men

Spot on, I think the spins fuck the hips or stress on turning on one leg, I know my hips click. I'm gonna put myself up for a replacement now, I might get the new hip before i'm 60.
