With everything in the world becoming so Moral when the shit hit's the fan, should Male/Female Prostitution be legal?!?!
The law for it is a joke and have such a broad stigma, why is this even in the Law book's as an Illegal act?!?
It remind's me of the war on Drug's, some shit a Closet Freak decide to put on paper and call it a law.

yes. it should. much safer that way.

excerpt from an interesting article:

'Tis true, however, that Spitzer is in hot water for more than just having an affair but also for soliciting a prostitute. One of Dershowitz's final comments was, "These laws are never forced against ordinary people." An excellent point! Now, if the public isn't held accountable for a law on a regular basis then should it still be a law? Not only that, but is an act that involves consensual adults really a crime? Bear with me, I'm not asking why prostitution is wrong -- that I don't dispute -- I'm asking why it's illegal.
Your reaction probably goes something like this, "It should remain illegal!"
"Why?" asks the universe.
"I don't know it just should!" you respond adamantly.
If we're so interested in waving a moral wand over other people's sexual transgressions, then why is adultery legal? As it stands now adultery is, as it should be, grounds for divorce but it is not considered criminal. You cannot call the police and report your spouse for being unfaithful, unless, of course, your spouse is being unfaithful with a prostitute.

I wish Spitzer had been caught dancing in an illegal (unlicensed) establishment and they'd be talking about repelling
the stupid Cabaret Laws instead of all this waste of time, energy and bandwidth talking about his private life.

Not that I don't find it ironic that Mr Prosecutor got nailed by his very own traps, but none of this affects us in the
way the above would....

They had a red light area in Balsall Heath in Birmingham, it was present though the 70's and 80's.

It wasn't the Police that stopped it , it was the local Muslims.

Of course it should be legal. But then they'd probably have to file taxes...

HELL NO!!!

Numbers make their money and not pay taxes or a Pimp so....why let the Gubment Pimp you? Back in the day Pimps was running thangs, now females have smartened up and GET 100% of the pay for their work. Making it legal, licensed, etc give then a new pimp plus they have to pay taxes on their earning.

I say if it aint broke dont fix it. That's another Big American problem...getting all in other folk business - while trying to get money for nothing. F'k Dat!!!

There is no law on the books that say we gotta pay income taxes but...from years of going along with what we were told - we screwed ourself.

This arguement is as valid as DJ's getting an ASCAP License in order to be a DJ. As it stands now.....no paper no proof = no tax paid to the gubment after a gig. Any cash I make that can not be tracked down = Sam Gets Nada.

Looking at it from a ind business person stand - it's all good as is.

Porno actresses generally aren't standing across from school zones looking for their next gig, or smoking crack behind your house.

In Canada, it's not prostitution that's illegal - it's communicating for the purpose of selling sex. I'm not entirely sure where the law came from, but I bet anywhere that soliciting laws exist (U.S., Canada, wherever) they arose as a response from property-owners around quality-of-life issues.

Those same concerns likely keep said laws on the books today.

Damn, Crockett you beat me to my favorite GC quote, lol.

Prostitution should be legal though, along with marijuana. Its kinda stupid that the world's oldest profession is illegal anyway. If prostitution is legal, then adultery should be illegal too. And if marijuana is illegal (and has yet to kill anyone)n then alcohol and cigarettes should be illegal (both known to have killed thousands). Our country's moral code is retarded.

Absolutely not!We have become a society of no morals and values. You legalize prostitution how long/before gay marriage and child/adult sex become legal.

Think of all the disease that will go up.Perhaps if people know its legal they will engage in sex more therefore creating more disease. There is still a taboo associated with it,therefore most people dont engage because of shame.
