Dammit!!! I'm coming to NY on Friday. I'll miss this one. I would have gotten an earlier flight if I had known sooner about your party,Darshan. Will I run into you somewhere else? I would like to meet you in person. I would like to meet a lot of NY people.Peace.

Sorry about that Walter, things have been really disorganized for me over here lately, so I didn't think to post too far in advance.

Check your PM --

Check your PM -- No problem,D. I know how it is. I used to throw parties myself. It takes a lot out of your time and after a while, your brain turns to jelly. I'm sure I'll catch up with you during the course of the weekend. Check your PM.

the shit was bangin period
ran into theo outside smokin a stoge said whats up said i met him in de-twah he said yeah
i remeber ya bro cool :D

got indside the placed was packed i think
darshan was on playin some straight club music vibes (a nice change as of lately) the crowd was young gettin
there drink on and such but no 1 except my lil crew was dancin mad1.gif
and tryin 2 talk over the music
graemlins/conf44.gif ??

after a while theo got on started with some classics & disco flavors
then after about the first 30 min dropped
inn with JAMIE PRINCIPLE
of coarse me an my lil crew went up as we
procceded 2 get our jack on the trainspotters were in full affect
(at times including myself)
then he dropped some wicked acid track in a minute me and Al were yellin at people JUST DANCE!
graemlins/conf44.gif
(why come 2 dance partys if your not gonna dance?)
anyway
he then hit us with with couple of his joints
unreleased madness simply KILLER theo is one the few I love hearing his productions while he's
playin raw, surreal, dark ,muddy, minimal sh&t bangin then the rest of the night he was back n fourth with deep/classic/harder/& out there stuff
a complete night
of GOOD MUSIC in my opinion
danced a lot most of the night as the crwod thinned out it became much more of
a PARTY than folk coming 2 take up space 2 hear a cool set (wack)
we were really givn it that back n fourth energy with him (i mean beatin the bar an all)
and he seemed 2 really dig it

the highlight was the exclusive shit
1 joint was thre FUNKIEST I rePEAT the FUNKIEST JOINT I'VE HEARD IN YRS frm
someone in dance music i think its gonna be on the Rotating Assembly lp called
"split me wide open" dirty raw as hell/FUNK complete
another beat he dropperd on a cd killer hail.gif
also playin the new Eryka badu "i want you"
like said i havent that much fun in a minute i mean hittin the wall and all not much heads from the deep soul comittee, I wonder why? espec
since this was the deepest dj i heard play in nyc in a minute
anyway as we left lil before 5 folk were still dancin, drinkin & smokin
and all smiles and i actually
was sweaty when i letf

also when going 2 the bathroom I saw a
condom wraper on the floor and there
was a gay couple in the back makin out no one cared
imagine that in CLUBLAND WOW!!
now thats HOUSE!

much props 2 kevin jones,Al boogie/malcom,"wich way" Sha,tone & tay from jersey,shalewa & tam tam
aight!!!

I'll get into the usaual polotics later
but 4 now i might be a hard please (jaded)
but know a good

ron, that sounds like a wicked night

you nyc-ers have gotta realise how lucky you are! so much drama of shelter-this shelter-that, but i would kill to have a regular party like shelter in my town, plus all the other small to medium sized parties going on, many of which, from my visits to nyc, are pretty fvckin slamming ..
and yo, i would one of the dudes getting my drink on in style and dancing my ass off, there isnt any doubt when theo's in town!

i gotta stop reading this board cos it depresses me the amount of good parties i miss out on, particularly in nyc and tokyo, both of which from experience are amazing cities to party!

Peace!

David

Was a decidedly mixed night for this sister. I experienced a real disconnect between the desire to dance that Theo was bringing down and my deeeeep annoyance with the crowd. The very real vibe clash between old-heads and second generation folk like me and a large cross-section of the contemporary audience is why so little of the "deep soul committee" were there. I left earlier than I might otherwise have because I had reached the point where my annoyance with the (non-existent) dance floor etiquette of 95% of the other folks in the room blotted out any joy that the music was bringing me. What I would have given to hear that set (even the icky tweeky shit that makes me want to strangle somebody ;) ) in a room full of folks who came to dance, not watch other people dance (including the DJ who was far more animated than most of the room...).

thanks Theo played the cd at my place last week, but according to what he said then it's gonna be a while before it is released officially, I believe spring 2004, but you never know!

Yo Jurren, count me in for November 2nd :)

Thanks for your feedback Ron P. and Shalewa - we are thankful for the venue APT, but continue to search for the ideal place and crowd, where people feel free to let loose and get into the music.

Thanks for coming out and adding to the dance energy in the place, I felt it!

Dance like no one is watching... The embrace of this aphorism doesn't erase the probability that one will be approached (almost always the approach involves unsolicited physical contact) at various points to hear about how someone actually was watching... All of which reflects a vibe that works for many but certainly not for all.

What up Ron, Al, Darsh, and Shalewa ;) . sometimes we have the same problem here Theo played Plastic's a couple of weeks ago and people especially blokes love to stand around even on the middle of the dancefloor stare and drink their beers ?.
It kind of makes me think about this conclusion. They are here because yes they like the music and want to check out Theo he's a cool dj but loves getting down himself.
But does not his music make them want to dance wtf also you are pissed up which most brits like to get to the stage of you can't really dance that much anyway.
I wish people would not get intoxicated to the point of dullness.

Glad you had a good night any way.

Peace Alex.

first off, i love me some icky tweeky ish :D
second off, i think the people that go to APT want to be BRITISH.
third off, i am a long time APT attendant, i have polished many a dance move because i always get stuck in a tight corner. helps me perfect my multiple turns and when peeps get in my way, i bump bump bump em off. i can see how someone WOULD NOT want to do that though...i've had many moments. but Theo is FUNKY and i went on hiatus from regular club nights and try to only attend really special events now (special to me.) it's hard work going out nowadays, especially to APT...so i went prepared and had a good time regardless. (i KNOW it would have been better if everybody was gettin off though!)

i WAS yelling "DANCE MUTHERFUNKERS, DANCE!"
