Held up @ GUN POINT outside of ZENTRA!!

The night started off promising. After our van broke down a month ago it's been a bee-yatch for me to be able to go out. Being a label owner this sucks real BAD!! There was no way this was gonna stop me from gettin' a promo to Joe Clausell. Fortunately we (Mari and I) have caring family members who understand the situation and we were able to borrow a ride.

I load up a peach Optimo and grab some Hei-knees from the fridge. We made it to Zentra early enough to make the reduced admission cut off. Since it was early (I figured Joe was'nt gettin' on 'til later) we got our hand stamped and decided to get some networking done at other clubs.

After hearing S.A.R. tracks being played and hooking up a gig for the New Year we decided it was time to head back to the main reason we went out. Spending 15 minutes looking for parking (by Zentra) was enough time for the liquor to demand, out. I find parking and told Mari to stay in the ride while I "releive" myself down the street. I do the do and start heading back when out of the corner comes this guy wearing a ski mask and dressed all in black except for the silver gun he had in his hand.

Scumbag: "Give me your f'in money or i'll kill you!!"

A2a: "I aint got no money"

Scumbag: "Give me your f'in money, if you don't have any money, i'll kill you!!"

I pulled out my wallet and showed him it was empty.

Scumbag: "I'm gonna kill you anyway!!"

By this time I saw that Mari noticed that something odd was occuring and she started to honk the horn and yell out the window for help.

Scumbag: "Tell her to get away"

All I kept on thinking of was Mari and the kids. I started to just knod my head.

Scumbag: "Get the f*ck out of here!!"

I head towards the car, get in and we drive a block away and called the cops. I'm glad this occured on the north side cause the police showed up in less then 5 minutes.

The reason i'm writing this is to just give everyone a heads up. We might be in a partying state of mind but there is always someone/thing out there with different plans for ya. I was lucky enough to walk away from the situation but others have'nt been.

I've been on the other end of a gun & it is a rather humbling experience, all I could think of were my 2 son's & how it would affect them (if I were shot) I'm glad the violence didn't escalate & you made it home OK. Man, Agente-I am truly sorry that happened to you, I can't tell you how happy I am you made it.

This news doen't surprise me at all though-after one of those Frankie sets @ Crobar a couple of years back, some cat broke into our car while we were at the party and took all our shit.

My wife had to get new credit cards, checkbook, wallets-the whole nine. I had a full record bag stolen with a walkman and some of my best mixes stolen.

DO NOT let that neighborhood fool you-just because there are lots of clubs, stores and half naked chicks running around going to parties does not mean it is safe. Glad you're ok. I had the same thing happen to me and my significant other a few years ago in broad day light. It scared the shit out of me. My friend was ok & was ready to retaliate & find the person who had done this to us but I went straight to church after it happened.
