After getting to hear the music radio more in one day than probably the entire year so far, I started wondering something...
Does Radio and it's stranglehold on programming and exposure hurt record sales just as much as the illegal downloading/sharing of music?
Back in July, I went to Virgin Records at Union Square in NYC. Music everywhere...all kinds of music. How much of the music on the store shelves actually makes it to radio? I'm not talking about the obscure dance music tracks, but stuff that might be considered "mainstream". Since I don't really listen to radio, I have no idea.
