Lists like these are usually pointless. I don't care what magazine says the top 100 dj's are, I still know who I like. What intrigues me more is that most of the dj's on the top list are playing the same style of music. I didn't see any hip-hop names up there. The list should actually say the top 100 electronica/trance/house dj's. And I would have thought Tony Humphries and Frankie Knuckles would have been much higher on the list. Yes, they're big name DJs, but when was the last time you saw David Mancuso on the cover of DJ mag? If David, as an example, was to win, we'd have a new genre called 'Loft' which would be popular for 6 months, wrung out and left dead in the water. What's the point?
