I Jus' Gotta Ask, What's With It Referring To Women as Men?

Example;
Woman "Ray Ray, where were you last night?"
Man "Shaniqua Tashaun, I told you I was chillin wit Tyrone, MAN you trippin. C'mon, I luh you MAN"

Funny I've observed this many times some with couples and some with those that are just friends and I always wondered were the women offended but they didn't appear to be.
