Today, I Am In Need Of Prayer and Support

Today, I am in need of some spiritual support and prayer. You guys have been here for me in the past and I am calling on you again.

I found out that they are re-orging my unit at work and everyone will have to resign and re-apply for a decreased number of positions. With me not being an educator, I'm on the bubble.

The spouse is still suffering through her depression. I know it's a medical condition, but it is still quite difficult to see the person you love spiraling downward and you can't help them. I've gotten her to go to counseling, but it's too soon to tell if it's helping.

Mom's still a cancer patient (Hodgkins Lymphoma) enduring treatment and the like.

It's just a hard time for me right now. I'm looking for passages/prayers to help lift my spirit and renew my strength.

Here's a story that helps me ... Might be corny to some but I always read it when I'm going through a lot ...

Footprints in the sand.

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints.
He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when I needed you the most you would leave me."
The Lord replied," My son. My precious child, I love you and would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."
