"...oh, you shouldn't mess with love...I'm leaving, I'm leaving, I'm leaving today"...is it this one, if so that's T.C Curtis "You should have known better".

I prefer the Scratch version over TC Curtis' version.I just remember the summer of 85 blasting that cut for a whole month on my box in the hood.Memories....I used to play both of them.I love that breakdown on the Scratch version.I am going to dig it up for this weekend.I am in a classic 80's mood.

My dumb question of the day: what the hell is the Skratch version?

It's a version that was made by a group called Scratch.I love that version.T.C's version is more slower to me.The Scratch version has a totally different feel to it.That was the preferred version of play here in Chicago,at least in my neck of the woods.
I never had the TC version until I got the Disco comp with it on it.

Interesting about the Skratch version and how it all depends on where you live. I got the TC Curtis version when it came out because I heard it like every 10 minutes during a two-week trip to England, and even heard him do an accapella version live on the radio over the instrumental mix (actually it was so popular in England that summer that I couldn't get it till I got back over here), but I had never heard of Skratch until today.

Don't sleep on the "Hot Melt Mix" dub version with the flute/break in it (T.C. Curtis) which was released as an import.

a little while ago I played the TC curtis version on a mix featured on gottahavehouse. I used to play the scratch instrumental all the time but T.C's is a little more tripped out

The TC curtis is one of the hardest records to mix in creation.
