I think the point that was being made was that Wright was being painted as a kook by the (white media)as bill put it.and would he have been treated and talked about differently if he were white.I learned that wright has been an activist in the community for several years and also is a veteran of the armed forces.

He doesn't leave the pulpit only to don a white sheet and wreak havoc on the community.

Can understand why many stay out of the arena of politics.

If only it were that easy. The lies people will makeup. The man still has a problem with people thinking he is muslim even after he has said he is not.
Either islam has become so demonized that people want to believe what the want to believe.
Or,some americans are so dumb and backwards that they want to believe what they want to believe.Enough alreeady, the gig is up.The man says he is christian leave well enough alone, its getting me sick.

What did you think about the comparison to Rev. Wright & Rev. King?
Tavis was on point about everything he said. Interesting on John Cusack's views on the war also.
Real Time is a GREAT show!!!!

That means Rev. Wright is a TRUE PATRIOT!!!!!
The "bright side" of the Rev. Wright controversy is that it should put the muslim stuff to bed. At this point only the truly delusional and those living under rocks would not know that Barack is a christian and has attended Trinity UCC for the last 20 years.

Hahaha....That's so true!
I am a Tavis as well as "Real Time" fan so it was quite a nice surprise to turn the show on and see Tavis sitting there. I knew he would bring about great discussion to an already great weekly round-table.
Silky, I was QUITE impressed with Tavis' comments and demeanor. The audience was truly feeling him, as well, per their constant applause and shouts whenever he finished a thought or retort.
I attended Trinity United for the few years I lived in Illinois and I still claim Jeremiah as my pastor, and ALWAYS will. The media and the politricks folks have done such an injustice in reporting about Jeremiah's words, teachings and sermons, so much so that I find it humorous to listen to the onslaughts of Jeremiah/Obama bashings.
Tavis and Bill Maher are two GREAT hosts. I'm not a big TV fan but these 2 shows are well worth watching.
PS - What up Silk dawgg! ! ! Smooches :-))

Being Muslim shouldn't stop you from becoming president. Stupid shit if ya ask me.

So true, but our society and especially the media is more concerned with the illusion than the truth.

Or whether you believe in God at all.How does that affecty one's ability to run a company (U.S.) Bush claims he does and how many deaths is he responsible for? He obviously isn't afraid of any "afterlife" repurcussions.

Tavis was on point 98% of the time, except for a tiny, wee bit of hating. he seemed to be very agitated when somebody said Obama had the momentum right now. i used to be a big Tavis fan. he's become a little bitter over the past 2 or 3 years.
