Like, maybe you're such a zealot for the music that you think, "Only an aswipe could get a good feeling about THIS kind of music." I mean, you could kill someone with a spoon, if you cared enough(G. Carlin)...

OK OK I feel you... but can I hate the carpenters silently then, and still love music ? http://deephousepage.com/smilies/conf40.gif
Peace,
(I am hoping my words are to contribute, not hurt others....)
I type too much but let's scrutinize this line of reasoning more closely.....indeed, its slippery.
My initial thought was, 'we all have a subjective liking to objects, regardless of what they may be'
But the addition is to "despise/discredit". Hmmm, if I despise/discredit it, then who could
answer whether I'm really into music or not? Bush, Mugabwe, my pops, Greenspan,.....nahhh, that's solely determined by me....it'd be your value judgement against anothers.....wouldn't it? graemlins/conf44.gif
Here's something, why not be into the thing that created Music and that made the devices to hear music with........whomever that is?
These things are merely creations, right? Vibrations that strike the shape of the ear or as
another deep hitting cat told me, it (music) is basically mathematics? Why not be into The entity that created these things, mathematics being just one of It's pieces of art, perhaps......? smile.gif

"99% of any music is crap, it's the other 1% that's interesting."
A quote by Russ Gabriel that says it all.
