Who's checking him out. This is where I'm celebrating my birthday. Maurice Fulton spinning there is a total coincidence hey that's a nice birthday gift right there. And something tells me that this won't be my only Friday night at APT this month.

He's actually good with the classics but he'll throw down anything that will fit the moment. He's fun and don't sleep on Duane Harriott who is the resident of that night, he's opening and closing.

My only complaint about those podcasts is they're too short. Most of them are just over thirty minutes. I usually only listen to mixes while working out so they need to be about an hour for them to be useful.
I hope to meet you on Friday.

Nice sets last night by Maurice ad Duane. They definitely brought the goods. Just some good old fashioned disco with a sprinkling of House and Techno, definitely worth hearing.
It was nice meeting you Benguin, we'll definitely will be doing it again.
APT has some interesting guests coming up. I'll probably be in the mood to make another visit later this month.

happy birthday!. i meant to stop by because i have never heard Maurice spin. i had a hellish week so i was too exhausted. i really enjoyed Duane last month when he opened for Theo. My "new" obsession is obscure disco. do you know who he has next month? because according to their myspace page, he will be having the guys from TRUS'ME on June 6th!!!!!!!!! i love their cd of reworked disco edits "working nights".

I didn't ask who he was having next month. I never heard of Trusme (I really don't keep track of records and producers these days, they might be worth checking out). I kind of wouldn't mind just a night of Duane without any guests maybe I'll ask when I get a chance.

I subscribe to a podcast that features one of their mixes. From what I can tell, they have a funky, eclectic style of playing where they play soul, jazz, funk, disco, and house and other similar genres all mixed into one coherent set. I think their live set would be worth checking out!

I was hoping to tease that for a little while, hence the "I'll probably be in the MOOD to make another visit later this month" comment. He's playing at Dope Jams as well, that's the first I heard about that. I'll try to check out both although if I have to choose one it will probably be APT. At the Dope Jams in store when does it start feeling like a party? I really don't want to get there too early for the feeling out period.

No problem, it wasn't a big secret to those on the mailing list and I'm sure news would have spread at some point. Heck, I didn't know about the Dope Jams thing (I should really read their e-mails). As long as people find out before, not after the event then it is all good. :)
