DHP in Portland, Oregon?

I'm going to be visiting my mother in Portland from Dec. 17-26, and haven't been home in 3 years (I grew up there), and was wondering if there are any weekly and/or special events I should keep my eyes open for. Also, any after hours spots, since, like most of us, I have a hard time going home at 2.
