weirest thing.
since yesterday I have not been able to log on to hotmail.com, windows.com or msn.com from my home pc.
All I wanna do is check my e-mail. graemlins/conf44.gif
Yesterday I went to work and I was able to access hotmail.com...so what is the problem with my pc @ home?
I've tried using 3 different browsers, disabling my firewall and still nothing. I can log onto every other site I type in, so what's the problem.
Could it be that Microsoft has blocked my IP address because I am running an unlicensed copy of windows ? This sounds a bit preposterous to me but it is the only thing I can think of.
Thanks for your time and advice.

(CNN) -- Intermittent problems kept some users of Microsoft's popular MSN and Hotmail Web sites from accessing their accounts Tuesday.
"MSN Hotmail experienced limited technical difficulties affecting a small set of accounts," Microsoft said in a statement. "We apologize for the temporary service disruption and any inconvenience this may have caused a portion of our customers."
The cause of the outage was being investigated.
"Our information indicates that the majority of customers were unaffected by this disruption," the statement from Microsoft said. "We take any service outage very seriously and work to resolve all issues as rapidly as possible."
A spokeswoman for Keynote Systems, which tracks the performance of Internet backbones from the 25 largest U.S. metropolitan areas, said the company had not detected any major disruptions to MSN's service.

but my account has not been locked out. I went to work yesterday an I was able to check my e-mail w/ no problem..
How does that explain not being able to even log onto the url's. I could see if once I entered my account info I encountered a problem, but I can't even get to that point from home....
thanks, just frustrated.

I can't even get to these sites. It is as if my IP address has been blocked.

Your ISP at home may be using a different "backbone" from the one that you use at work.
Just speculating, but the possiblity of one of these major lines going down, can affect many customers in a given area, or a region. Kinda like what happened with the blackout.
Peace

Another weird thing about the hotmail, I've tried checking my email and keep getting a pop-up on porn that locks my account up. I can't get into any messages because of this particular pop-up. We have a pop-up killer but this one bypassed the software somehow. I've tried to block it thru hotmail and when I do, my list shows my address book WTF?! So I've taken my hotmail and put it in Outlook Express.
Does anyone else know what I can do about this madness?! graemlins/conf44.gif

I don't know what type of operating system you are on. If you have Windows 2000 or Windows XP on the "problem" computer, type the following from a command prompt (typically under Start > Programs > Accessories)...
ipconfig /flushdns

I don't know lady, but I've had more luck using outlook express @ home also.
Also, I'll take this time to mention that you are one of the more colorful personalities on this board and over the last 3 years or so I have enjoyed reading your jokes, humor and overall refreshing insight. You make me laugh often. Keep it up.

alright...then try this...instead of trying to go to www.microsoft.com, (http://www.microsoft.com,) go to 63.208.194.16. This is the real address of www.microsoft.com. (http://www.microsoft.com.) Do not type http or www in front of that address in your browser.
scratch this...they won't let you go to that address directly.
