And you should......

Peoplle looked at me like I was nuts when I dropped that "Takin Care Of Bidness" edit almost two years ago at a party, but they STILL talk about it.

So it must've worked somehow.......

Played "Silly Love Longs" by Paul McCartney & Wings at Leo's not too long ago - just because.....

Play what you feel......JMJ:biggrin:

There's been more than a few cuts that I just loved and always wanted to play at a party...Just wondered if folks would have thought me crazy..I did play one eventually.."Stay" by David Bowie..a few years ago at a party and folks snapped..It was a good feeling to know that more than a few peeps were on the same page as me..I bought the album because of the song "Golden Years" and fell in love with "Stay"...

I like this approach...
When a DJ play a main set of house or whatever then he just drop a bombshell of a rock, pop, reggae, jazz, latin or whatever genre to just throw the dance out of kilter for a few minutes or so, and make one briefly stop in their tracks and say "Wow I can't believe I'm hearing this...!!" and ya just hop back on board and enjoy the ride.
Take a risks!!

That's how I felt when I first heard "Smell like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana played at the Warehouse.

I played David Bowie - Magic dance (from the labyrinth movie) for my last record a few weeks ago.

heaps of fun to see people look at me in confusion, then recognize the track and get dancin and singing :)
