1) USC is number 1 in both AP and ESPN, but is number 3 in the BCS poll, so they get shut out.

2) It's now time for the NCAA to take steps to wrestle control of the postseason from the powefull bowls and a stupid computer.

3) Dr. Myles Brand, President of the NCAA. This man, then as Indiana's President, had the testicular fortitude to fire Bobby Knight, but he cannot control the business of Division IA college football, even though every other division of college football (II, III) has a playoff!

No other division of college football is a money maker, so their playoffs are irrelevant. NCAA Division I football is a business first, sport second, and the BCS-Poll screw-ups are exactly what the networks and sponsors want.....JMJ

As far as TV revenue - The current fiasco may generate higher ratings than any previous year - i.e. for both games that have the Top 3 teams.

The BCS definitely has to go - but until the NCAA can construct a playoff system that brings in the same amount (or more) money than the bowls bring through sponsorship, we're gonna be stuck with the bowl system.

DR February 2, 2004. His legitimacy will be checked by that famous truth machine called the 2-3 zone!

Now you've got interest in the Rose Bowl with USC vs. Michigan, followed up with the BCS Sugar Bowl match-up and the controversy. Two "championship" games rather than one.......JMJ

How about this? The winner of the USC-Mich game and the winner of the Okla-LSU play in a national championship game? It makes too much sense so you wont see it.

makes no sense to me. it's too bad for us (USC) but maybe this will bring light into a messed up system.

I missed something in this whole BCS thing this weekend. Prior to the LSU/Georgia game, Kirk Herbstreet was saying regardless as to whether LSU wins or loses, they would 'lose' as fas as the BCS standings were concerned. Due to the strength of schedule thing (they beat Georgia twice.) If that's so, how in the hell did they jump over USC? Also, why is Oklahoma still number one? Someone explain this to me.

Oklahoma is still #1 in the BCS due mainly to "strength of schedule".......JMJ
