Buzz Up PrintNorth Carolina’s Tyler Hansbrough—The Associated Press national player of the year last season—will return for his senior year.

Sophomores Ty Lawson and Wayne Ellington will declare for the NBA draft, the school says, but will not hire agents—leaving open the possibility of their return.

Hansbrough, a 6-foot-9 forward, averaged 22.6 points and 10.2 rebounds. He led the Tar Heels to the winningest season in school history and the Final Four.

I don't see how Ellington and Lawson could declare ahead of Hansbrough. Brandon Wright going early should have taught both of them a lesson. Yeah, you get drafted but you sit on the bench, period. Marvin Williams is coming into his own but he could have used another year. They will be in a much better position if they stay one more year. IMHO! I see all of the Memphis players declared. Their graduation rate is horrible but Rose and Douglas-Roberts are a lock.

wow, if you think long term this is a great decision, tyler knows he will never have the hype in the nba that he has now as a tar heel, and proof shows that seniors do very well in the pros over unseasoned juniors and sophomores

Tyler will have a serviceable 12 year career in the pros, no doubt.

Good decision to put off his (future)journeyman NBA career. He can start for NC next year instead of riding someones bench.
