I am thinking about driving from London (stansted airport area) to Glasgow Scotland.

Is it a long and/or difficult drive ?

How many hours ?

Any advise ?

Are you American? If so, then no, it is not a relatively long drive, and it's fairly straightforward.

Stansted is close to the M1. Take the M1 until swapping to the M6 somewhere in the Midlands (for Manchester and North West), and then something else from Carlisle to Glasgow. I once hitched from Oxford to Edinburgh by pretty much that route in under 9 hours. If traffic's OK, I reckon it'd take you 8 hours at most.

Yes, American.

Ok, so about a 9 hour drive.

Also another question.
I have never driven in the UK.
Is driving on the other side of the car, an issue, for someone who has never done it ?

It seems strange looking at it from passenger side.
But I don't know.

Any advise ?

unless you really wanted to drive, it would take 1 hour to fly Stansted to Glasgow..

flights from around £25 one way

would be a LOT easier (roadworks, traffic), far cheaper and quicker

hope this helps

It'll probably work out cheaper to fly.

You will get used to it, it comes naturally the more you drive there. Just pay attention and be careful, I guess.

With the current price of petrol...yes, much cheaper to fly. It's not a particularly scenic drive either, it's also very tiring driving for 9hrs. I think you should avoid it at all costs. In fact, avoid Glasgow at all costs, even better.
