The article reads:

(1010 WINS) (NEW YORK) In the latest ticket blitz story, the Daily News reports that a pregnant woman was given a 50 dollar ticket for resting on the subway steps in Brooklyn.
Eighteen-year-old Crystal Rivera says she was ticketed last Tuesday by a female officer at the 86th Street station in Bay Ridge. The News says the pregnant teen told the officer she was tired and resting. It will cost her $50.
A spokesman for the police union says cops on the beat are being pressured to generate cash for the financially strapped city. PBA spokesman Al O'Leary says previously cops would give a warning but now they are being told to write the summons. The Bloomberg Administration says there is no ticket quota for police.
Yeah right. I'm still feeling the $260.00 pinch from when my car was ticketed and towed to make the "quota" even though I was parked at a metered space. And what if the woman doesn't pay the ticket? What then? Arrest her and waste even more taxpayers' money?
They need to lighten up.

I have also read that bars are losing money hand over fist since the smoking ban. I hope NYers dont keep this clown in office too long.

DJs and Milk Crates... (http://1010wins.com/siteSearch/winstopstories_story_140075105.html)

(1010 WINS) (NEW YORK) It appears the New York City budget crunch has police writing tickets for things that are moving and not moving. A Bronx man tells the Daily News he was given a ticket for sitting on a milk crate outside the hair salon where he works on the Grand Councourse.
The ticket says "unauthorized use of a milk crate." The fine was not immediately known. But 19-year-old Jesse Taveras told the News he was flabbergasted when the police officer handed him the ticket Sunday afternoon. Taveras says the cop told him to "Blame Bloomberg." Owning a stolen milk crate can cost a 100 dollar fine. But those at the hair salon say the milk crate has been there for years.
A few days ago the Police Benevolent Association charged that street cops were being pressured to meet a quota in writing tickets to collect money for the city. The Bloomberg administration strongly denied those claims.
