Dennis Gregory and I headed for the Detroit about 2:30 am Saturday morning the drive wasnt pretty it rained up until we got out of Penn. The ride was kool we bumped music all the way, I was a bit tired but we made it. Jesse Outlaw let us crash at his spot. We pulled into Detroit (E. Jefferson St. around 1:30 pm took up the bags and started trippin. The neighborhood was a little suspect but it was all good. When we got there we were told that our party was supposed to be the following night but they would let us play anyway for a little while. I immediatly called Rickey X to let her know we were in town. spoke to her for a minute then we were off to take a look around town.
Headed towards Mike Clarks crib and while on the way i mentioned that i wanted to finally meet GU hope he's in Detroit. As we get into Mike's crib, (Dope ass Loft) i notice this kat sitting in a chair facing the door way, i said to myself damn that looks like GU i guess im trippin. well when we get into the living room area Jesse comes to me and says GU is in the other room, im like damn i knew that looked like him and i dont smoke so it couldnt have been the drugs. So i go in and introduce myself he gives me mad love and from that point on everybody just starts trippin playin pool, video games and other stuff.
Im sitting on the sofa and this kat comes walking in the room fast as hell and im buggin cause its Brian Reeves met him last year we give eachother dap and i mention Cheez having a new baby, and he starts talking about how he was doin 120 on the highway coming to detroit, Kat has a DOPE Jaguar. Brian is funny and crazy as hell, None the less this kat Vic is in the room and he comes out with some Promo's and low and behold I find out Vic is *ickin Mr. Ali Im really trippin now. Kats start talking about Boxing and how kats was getting knocked out, GU is a funny Mo Fo he starts imatating how Hearns was getting clubbed by Leonard this shit was funny as hell you had to be there, Kats was crackin the *uck up.
Ok now that episode was over we head back to Jesse's crib and get a little rest. Then my phone rings, Its Girlfriday and guess what her Hotel is directly accross the street from where we are staying, We hook up and she goes to get something to eat and we bug out talkin and things, Gene King is in the Hotel room sleep
They have two Cats and while im resting they decide to come out and *uck with me, i hated that shit. Well after that we wake up and get out shit ready for the party. but first we have to head out to the Casino to see Mike Clark throw down Nice sounds system,Mike was Rippin it, we run into Princess Tam-Tam, Shalewa, Jo-Jo Flores, Bic Flores & Friend, Girlfriday, Gene King, a bunch of kats were up in the place, GU shows up with his Manager then we hang out for a little while say our good byes and off we go,
When we get there nothing is set up im confused. then we get word that tonight is really not the night we play a band called Techadelic is supposed to play but we can fill in until they are ready. Well once the equipment gets set up Dennis start playing and my phone rings its Agent Double A and his girl. I went downstairs to meet him so he wouldnt have to pay. We get in and in my opinion that sounds system wasnt all that but it was adequate. I get on the decks for about 15 - 20 minutes then the band is ready to play. The mixer was not ready for all the juice so the sound was questionable kats was trippin screaming Turn the *uckin music up, i was like damn what we gonna get punched in the face up in here? graemlins/jpshakehead.gif
Well by the time they figure out the system is not equiped for a band most people have gone home and that was it, we went back and crashed.
Next day, we head out to this barbq we are supposed to play, the Cork Town Tavern well when we walk in this cat takes us upstairs and we see this soundsystem and start Salavating, This *cukin Soundsytem was Crazy off the Hook!!!! kat says we can play on it Dennis and i beat the shit out of this Soundsystem from about 3:00pm until 9:30 almost 10:00 I talk to Rickey X and Girlfriday letting them know where we were at, sayin Yo yall gotta come down here and see this shit!!! but i guess they got side tracked and couldnt make it through, I met a few kats from 3 degrees we kicked it, a little while into the party Jo Jo Flores shows up and begins to beat the *hit out of the system downstairs playin some *hit!!! Dennis liked the place so much he was like *uck it we are gonna stay here until its time to go. We hang until like 2:30 am then we leave,
On the way back Dennis gets a ticket, That was some funny shit but ill keep that on the Low Low............ we made it back and im happy i made the trip.
Dissapointments - Wanted folks I knew to come see me play but it didnt turn out that way, There is always next time.
Good Points - Chicago Headz are kool as Hell and it was a great experience.
