FORT WORTH, Texas -- An Arlington woman who caused her lover's shooting death by falsely crying rape was found guilty Friday of involuntary manslaughter.


Tracy Denise Roberson, 37, cried slightly when the verdict was announced after jurors had deliberated for more than a day. The punishment phase was set for Monday, and she faces two to 20 years in prison.

In late 2006, Darrell Roberson came home from a late-night card game to find his scantily clad wife with another man in a pickup truck in the driveway. Tracy Roberson was with her lover but cried rape, and her husband fired four shots into the truck as Devin LaSalle was driving off, killing him.

Darrell Roberson initially was arrested, but the murder charge later was dropped and a grand jury indicted Tracy Roberson instead.

During her three-day trial, defense attorneys called no witnesses but blamed LaSalle's death on Darrell Roberson's jealousy and rage.

But prosecutors placed all the blame on Tracy Roberson, showing evidence of the affair with LaSalle, 32, and a text message in which she invited him to her house that evening.

I can see him reacting the way he did once she yelled RAPE, otherwise I say it's wrong for someone to start blasting in a situation like that. Divorce is less painful than living with the fact that one took a life over a lie.

1. They were gettin' down in a truck in the driveway of her marital home.

2. Her husband carried a concealed weapon.

3. Her trick-off on the side wasn't a deaf-mute, thus he must've had something to say about all of it.

4. Wonder how much booze was available at that "late-night card game" where a concealed handgun was a good idea to have with him.

5. He fired four shots into a truck speeding away from him with enough accuracy to kill the driver.

6. All in a residential neighborhood.

7. Every man knows the woman he marries. They just act like they don't. Better to look clueless than impotent.

He killed that man because he wanted him dead. Everything else is arbitrary. I bet no one on that jury had more than an 8th grade reading comprehension level.

A jail-house attorney could have her out and the prosecutor cited before the work-day was done.

It was said that he didn't buy the Rape story. I wouldn't have bought it seeing as they were in the truck PARKED in the DRIVEWAY. If anything it would had been a Kidnap & Rape.
