Most of the Dj's from CD 101.9 are there and some from WRVR. The format is even better in my opinion (not so much Sade..lol)

cd101 still plays music from their website, plus there are similar stations in a lot of cities, many of which have sites.

CD101.9 started off so strong at the beginning. Lots of Bob James, Shakattak, Basia, Grover Washington Jr., Pat Metheny Group, Steely Dan... HOT shit. In recent years, they became a "cheesy-jazz-version-of-R&B-songs" station, maybe a half step behind The Weather Channel. It was really annoying and I was kinda glad to see them go.

Lets not forget when they changed formats to play that drum and bass thing..What the hell was that about. Don't get me wrong some of it was kewl, but weird mixing the 2 together

Everyone can't get that station unfortunately.

They never did d&b, they tried chill for a minute both to stay fresh and try to hold ratings that were declining.

They had a nice long run, no problem seeing them go considering the shitload of alternatives to them online and elsewhere. Some of the smooth jazz stations in other cities are actually better, for example the one in philly and one i heard for a minute in Bangkok.

pandora.com Play only music you like. You can type in an artist's name, Kem or Sadao Watanabe, for example, and artists with similar styles will play.

I actually started listening to CD 101.9 while I was in high school, I found that I could study to it without being overly concerned with always hearing lyrics that would distract me..It used to be so mellow back in the early 80's.
