Exactly!

Nothing obvious and loads of off the wall classics!
That mix of The Broads-Sing Sing Sing is baad!
Too bad he doesn't play these records( at least not any more )!

Hey suenomartino hows it going, I listend to it on Friday(on CD) and loved it graemlins/thumbsup.gif , the 2nd disc was mixed to perfection and the 1st disc plays tracks in full length. Kinda worth getting it on both formats.

The extended "Sex Mix" of Relax by Frankie Goes To Hollywood is worth the price of admission alone. If you read the liner notes--he didn't even have this til they liscensed it for this comp and it was sent to him by the label!

I like that crazy ass backward mix of Yolanda by kid Creole as well!

I like that crazy ass backward mix of Yolanda by kid Creole as well! That is the reason I got it also. I did notice that the MBO theme was edited.. For the rest of the cuts its good to have another version so that you do not have to bring your originals out..

Good compilation no doubt!! graemlins/thumbsup.gif

The original of MBO theme was a promo release only and it fetches quite a bit of dough on eBay (currently $35 +). I've been looking for a copy myself, but can't seem to find one. One day, though ... one day ....

No offense to those who love the record, but what do people see in that 'Sing Sing' track. I think it is MAAD CHEEZIE. Yes, I know it got major rotation here back in the day, but I just could never get into it. Just my two bits ...

magic_juan Are u talking about the same version as the one on the comp.

I love the progression and the fact that the music and the lyrics don't seem to match.

Not cheesy at all, nooooo !

I'm going to have to check it, then. I know the one I am familiar with sounded like some old 1940's track that old people dance to. It used to get played out here in Chicago all the time.

Still trying to track down that Cd. Dustygroove had it, but they are sold out.

i'm gonna have to pick this damn choice comp up at some stage its seems pretty much like a must have

derrick has a hot new album coming out on icon soon too. one of the best albums I've heard all year in fact

I got the oniero vs tone theory at the weekend. Only six tracks on the vinyl, but definately a nice overall feel to it. just using the most basic of elements to create a nice jackin feel to all the tracks - a bit less cluttered than some of the stuff he's been putting out. quality sh*t!

damn, i'm happy to say i own every track on here (besides the version of relax). props to derrick though for putting together such a great compilation

magic_juan I think i''ts pretty obscure. I got the 12" with two mixes. The bigband version and the mega be-bop mix. I don't know which mix is on derrick carter's choice. BUT.. i'ts a dutch record by Ben Liebrand. I think it is one of the few dutch classics.
