I saw the movie last night. Some of you will like it and some are going to talk shit about it. I liked it. Alot of dialogue and mystery so you have to pay attention and think. I have to see it again, so I can understand it more.

My boss surprised me with tickets for this afternoons showing down here at Battery Park City Multiplex....he says we have to leave work early....I dig my boss....

I got to check out some of the animatrix. It's a series which prequels the 1st movie. Tells the conditions leading to the machines taking over. It's hot. Not for kids. Supposedly a DVD of the series is coming out in the Fall.

Look out for that when you get a chance.

The animatrix was very cool, especially as if youve watched any anime over the last ten years, you get excited whe you recognise the various peoples styles.

saw the trailer at the end - it answered many questions that would have been lingering for me...

i think i'm gonna have to see part one again to fully understand part 2, but it was a very intense movie...however, the phony music (such as the heroic chariots of fire stuff playing when the ship came home in the beginning) could've been deleted for a harder hit...

minus the sex scene, children could actually see this...

what did y'all think about paul oakenfold's music in the party scene?

That film was abso****inglutely amazing. Basically, if you think its going slow for the first 45 minutes, just know you have no need to worry and you will leave the cinema totally satisfied, in a "YOU BASTARDS! HOW CAN I WAIT UNTIL NOVEMBER WHEN YOU LEAVE ME WITH AN ENDING LIKE THAT!" kind of way.

I was (in neo speak) like Woah! when I saw Cornell West and also when they flashed george bush senior on the screen right after hitler. lovely.

very different from the first, just as good.

I reconized the Cornell at first but I didn't realize who it was until later. I think there were alot of blacks in the movie because we tend to rebel and stand up against things that are not right, and against things that opress us.

we saw it last night... movie was GREAT!!!! i felt this huge open-mouth grin spreading across my face during all of the action scenes. we're definitely gonna go see it again. amazing what they did with this flick--see it.

also i'd like to report that yes, house music does survive into the next few hundred years.

Didn't know that. I think these two guys that made this movie are trying to tell something... Also, interesting that most of the main characters are Black as well. I also read an article in the "Suntimes" where Ebert pointed that out, as well as saying that most of the people in the city of Zion appeared to be Black/ people of color... Can't wait to see this film...

[/QUOTE]I've been wondering about the statement the Wachowskis are making with this. In the party scene, nearly everyone is of an ethnicity that isn't mainstream. Even Keanu Reeves isn't white.

I wonder what that is implying. Far too many women and people of minority ethnicity to just be a casting choice thing.
