Still a hot tune imo. Remember first hearing it and watching the video on television. It blew my mind.
It was one of those tunes that was also very influential for a lot of scratch DJs. :)

No doubt! D.ST's skills dropped some jaws at the time. He's still one of the most musical Scratch DJ's imo, and he introduced the syntheseizer at live jams back in the days. Rockit will never get tired. The whole album's nice too. Does anyone know if there's a version of Rockit with an extended scratched intro on vinyl? I heard it only once and it was at a radio show back in 83 so it could've been a DJ playing around with something I guess, or maybe it was a demo mix?

The plate, 'Rock it', Was one of the hardest plates, That i've ever heard at The Garage(Along with being one of those plates, That, Larry Levan would run about 6 or 7 times in one night too/LOL), I've always had, The utmost of respect for Herbie Hancock, In regards to Herbie Hancock, Putting a hiphop cat down, On his plate(WORD).
