How did you live your life during this period? I ask because I was in the military during this war and now I have to prepare myself as a civilian. I am fugged up right now with this thing happening, I have a sister and brother in law still in, plus friends I left behind...I'm sick...I don't know what to expect, besides things seem to be a little worse now than then, with everyone not supporting America and all...just wondering how were things back during the time of the Gulf War?

This war affected me and my mother in so many ways. Not only did I have a brother fight in this war, (he is in Kuwait as we speak) his wife was also in Saudi Arabia during this time period. So you can imagine what my mother was going through. Back when I was in highschool I couldn't believe the ignorance and apathy coming from many students in my classes. They were more concerned about Duke and UNLV in the Final Four rather than their fellow classmates who had brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, etc. in that region of the country. When I think back to that time, the Gulf War was really my generations "Big" war. We had Panama, Beruit, and Granada but these weren't the large scale battles campared to Vietnam, Korea and the World Wars. So maybe this time my generation will see war in a different perspective, for we know how it can affect our livelyhoods from day to day during a time of crisis such as the war with Iraq.

Peace
