You played a record Friday that had a male vocal that I really enjoyed. The lyrics escape me but the gist of the song was the guy talking about how tempted he is by a female and how he should probably leave before he does something wrong. At first the vocals seemed Michael Procter-ish but I'm sure it's not him.

Only thing I can think of is:
Artful Dodger feat. Lifford--Please Don't Turn Me On(Sounds of life vocal rmx) on London Records 90 Ltd(affiliated with ffrr) from 2000. Got to thank Larry Rauson for pointing out this one one day in Dance Tracks--it's one of my fav sleeper cuts! Got to make sure you get the right mix--there's another 12" that looks identical and it's crap!!!
