oops - didn't see this was about "office email"
weird huh?
Actually, I wish I could blame the "no yeses" situation on e-mail filters. The real deal is that it doesn't occur to them to type the word yes - especially in non-work-related e-mails. http://deephousepage.com/smilies/cry.gif

that are located in a country governed by a Conservative majority?
I'm in Canada- no e-mail quarantining at my work. But when I was working for a management consultancy firm based in the States every other word seemed to trigger a "SPAM" warning.

Maybe it's more to do with how conservative the company is,
rather than country?

Stop using the words penis and/or viagra in your emails :tongueout:

Not sure that is true. I work, as do most of my friends, for blue chip multi-national companies based in Toronto (many of which are actually US companies). None of us have anything like the level of over zealous e-mail policing that people working in the US do (often for the same company).
We also don't drug test here- not that that affects me in one way or another.

My Quar is off the chain...catches everything including what it has no business catching (ie msgs from our execs). I hate it YET love it.
As an Email Admin/Engr. quarentining based on content is quite normal. Excessively scruntinizing in the banking and marketing industries.
Its always good to have an external email accnt.
much of the quarentining happens at a high SMPT level and blacklisting and whitelisting privs can be given to the users with programs like Postini
just an fyi from your friendly neighborhood admin cow.:grinyes:
