since david started a thread relating to movies, i was wondering what heads on here think are some flicks that you feel are essential to your collection at home and couldn't live without?

a future classic -- "Amandla! A Revolution in Four Part Harmony"...it's about black South Africa, the struggle against apartheid, and how song and dance played a significant role in mobilizing, inspiring those fighting against injustice...

essential viewing!...the film is playing in small theaters now, not sure when it's coming out on DVD, though....i already have it on hold at netflix.com...

peace,

peace,
-g- at first, i had no interest in seeing this but after viewing the trailer, i was floored but i just haven't got a chance to check it out and i hope i do before the local indpendent theater rotates it out! nice one, ncho. and netflix.com is my new addiction. i don't even go out as much because i'm trying to watch flicks that i didn't view because i was lazy or slept on or because freaking blockbuster removed them from their inventory. i love that site!!!

Have you ever seen this flic called Flirting? It's set in Australia on the campuses of two very prestigious boarding schools. One all-female, the other all-male. A somewhat forbidden romance blossoms between a young white dude from the boys' school and Thandie Newton who attends the girls' school... She was simply adorable in this movie! A must see if you're a fan of hers!

Peace,

Another film i really liked her in was Gridlocked w/tupac. a pretty decent film I thought w/a great soundtrack from Stuart Copeland
