When pointed out that they were clearly copying the New York event. This was their reply

"Not sure what your name is, but just to set the record straight, we are not trying to rip off shelter in New York, up until 6 months ago we didn't even know they exisited, we have been a limited company in the UK for over 18months. As for the logo, it is based on an internationally used sign, that as far as I'm aware doesn't belong to anyone. I guess then in your world shelter club in the film 8 mile is a rip off too -
We have no desire to be linked to anyone, as we feel we have our own stlye and format, in-line with or plans to hold regular and different events we will be launching a night called "Fever", which should clear up the matter for good....
As for the lawyer.... if that is a route you want to take, rather than any other then bring it on....

Live Music @ shelter

we are always looking for new ways to improve our events and this will continue with us now begining our evenings with live music. We are pleased to confirm we will be booking the very funky "Kung Fu Chihuahua" for the 7th and 21st of March . These are some of the tunes you can expect from this 6 piece band:

Supersition
Rappers Delight
Play that Funky Music
Le Freak
The Theme to Starsky and Hutch

Sounds all to familiar to me. (re their response)

The good thing here is that we are speaking out and being heard. This is all good. Keep the pressure on them.

i want to be in the room when they stumble onto Gate-Ah's "The Shelter" and they rejoice over the fact that someone wrote a song just for them!
