OOPS got so pissed I hit the return key!!!
continued...
It's NOT...but will if all people around the world who look at this board as one of their sources of information start spreading the word that we think it is. Not to disrespect but the general public is very manipulable. If 5 out of 10 think it's dead then the others will eventually turn around and think it is with no justifiable proof...eventually. That's how humans are..we all want to be a part of something, not left out. This is a big part of the problem. Just because Clear Channel and all the conglomorates in radio have changed the programming to represent the demographics that their advertisors want to hit doesn't mean jack. It just means the corporate world has seen money in a certain field and they all want to capitalize on it. Jazz ain't dead...Rock ain't dead....hip hop was supposed to be dead or dying....so quit the crap. I've seen amazing crowds every weekend internationally and I'd like someone to tell them that their music is dead!! ahhh ya coulda fooled me!
Granted we're at a bit of a downturn but that's due more to a medium issue and political one here in the states. Remember..in all honesty we still get looked at here for setting trends and if it eventually dies here then it eventually dies everywhere else. That's being a bit simplistic...maybe even egotistical but it's true. So it makes me laugh to hear someone say "it's dying" when I have been to South Africa and I hear of a house complilation selling almost 100,000 copies firsthand!! Don't believe me? Do your due dilligence before opening your mouths!! Now...It doesn't sound like it's dying to me...does it to you? If you wanna kill it..then continue the banter and the very thing you love is the very thing your gonna kill....Huh..it figures though your family and the ones you love always seem to hurt you the most...

im sick of hearing that house is dead.
i spend a lot of money on records for my enjoyment and it would seem everyone still wants a product.
this board is 1000s of members strong and internet house mixes are bigger than ever. house sites are probably geting more hits and exposing more music to more people than the scene has ever done.
i wish some ppl would stop fuikin moaning about it bein dead or its gonna die.ive been a head for 14 years but only started buying vinyl and djing in the last 7 months and to be honest im quite surprised and digusted by what a lot of ppl say about the scene.
a lot of the time i hear negative stuff and get bad vibes from a lot of the overseas guys( im from the uk) about the state of the scene.
and you are right GU sometimes you start to believe what others are feeling when you hear it enough.
The way i see it is aslong as we keep getting stuff like
look inside, ambrosia, cloud 9.kerrys stuff, dennis f's stuff, maw then i think we will survive ;) i dont think anything is dying in my eyes.
for all the haters you all should stop hating and moaning and start loving! smile.gif

I think the reason some people here in america think that house music is dead is because radio in america don't play it. We've said time and time again on this page but its so true. Dennis knows because he's been to South Africa and they play the songs in regular rotation and not just in a mix. People get to know the songs a lot easier that way. Until we get a radio station here in the states with enough balls to do the same, things won't change. It may seem like house is dead if you live in america and have not done any international travel, but outside of the states you soon see that house is a force to be reckoned with.
