Seriously though, I think they don't have maps of the US in classrooms out here.

Several times when I told people I was from Chicago, they thought Chicago was on the east coast.

Then, I had to go to Connecticut for work, 2 of my friends from out here didn't know what it was or where it was. One of the guys that didn't know, just moved to NY, and I was like, it's an hour away from you....

i think this is TRUE - tons of people here really have no idea about this country's geography...it's kinda sad. guess you can blame it on the great california school system!

i noticed many californians really look up to new yorkers too.
almost idolize them in a certain way.

never could understand why or what that was about.
