View Full Version : Turntable help please...
I don't spin. I purchased a few records, but I dont have a record player. So can anyone guide in the right direction, please? What turntable is good, I know 1200's are the best, but remember I don't spin so I don't want to drop $1000.00. Does any one know if I can get a quality turntable for a descent price?

Try Vestax or Numark turntables. Hell, go with Stanton.

You should be able to find a used 1200 on Ebay for $250-300, or you could pick up one of those new Numark TT 200's for $199. Check www.pssl.com (http://www.pssl.com) Buy a quality cartridge.....JMJ

I never dj'd. I might take JMJ's advice, and shop on ebay. I would've bought yours.

I picked up a Stanton STR80 for about 200 new. Not bad at all. Esp. if your not doing any serious mixing. Still has +/- 8 pitch control and other features.

Hey brother go to www.hollywooddj.com (http://www.hollywooddj.com) I bought a pair of numark prott200's with the needles for $380. Like you I am also a cheapo. But I had to haggle with the sales person. I would recommend Numark pro- tt200's, Gemini 2400's or stanton str8-100's All these turntables are around 200 bucks each and they have great Torque. Meaning there cheap but not that cheap. If your really strapped for cash shop at www.hollywooddj.com (http://www.hollywooddj.com) I have not found a cheaper place. Good Luck.

i will veer a wee bit of the main subject if ure for a minute but people might find this intresting!!
i have recently started djing ok!! i have been listenin to house for 13 years (not that it means anything to u pro's)
i got a set of vestax pdx's 4 months ago.i match the beats 95% of the time now.i no when to drop(every 32)when appropriate obviously! But when i played my m8s technics 1200s i couldnt get the hang of it!!pitch wasnt right.mechanics felt wrong, couldnt handle my vinyl the same, felt the tables were wrong for me,struggled to keep my beats correct.couldnt ride without numerous try's in the cue, when mixin i usually can slow down/speed up with my finger s on the vinyl with the pdx's and it wont happen the same on 1200s!!
is this just a feel i have for my decks??
is this a silly thing that happens when first changing over from one set to an other when first learnin the ropes??
is this a case of older djs stating that 1200s or 1210s are the shit and that they aint realli!
could i play my vestax tables as good if i had learned on technics??
am i just sh..t at mixing??
will every club have vestax tables in the future?? :D
reply please cos this is a funni one!!!

Yo MC .. I am considering upgrading to some Technics soon so maybe we can do a deal on my Numarks. Completely new and only had them for a year and a half. Drop me an email if you are seriously in the market for some 'tables. Talk to you later!!
