My area, Park Slope Brooklyn, is back on. First came the traffic lights on 5th Avenue, Brooklyn around 6:00am, and then my power just got back a few minutes ago! Not all of Brooklyn (or NYC for that matter) is back on, but....I took a run an hour ago through Downtown Brooklyn, and it was still off. Downtown BK may be back on by now. Slowly, but surely....

I want to commend ALL of New York for positively chillin' during the night. Folks were either inside their home, on the porch, in caldlelit bars or having cookout/blackout parties. And everyone was civil. Festive, believe it or not (at least in my hood), but civil. And yesterday, everyone walked the Brooklyn Bridge in orderly fashion (the bridge was swingin, y'all--you could feel the bridge swingin' and hear the cables. ).

All in all (from what I've seen), everything was calm. Nowhere near like it was in '77 (I remember it! That was CRAZY!!!!).

Dear Mr. Bush. Were's our FEMA money? Nevermind!!!!

Slowly but surely....
